Road to Revolution: The Stamp Tax Crisis of 1765 Exhibit

For the month of May, the Road to Revolution: The Stamp Tax Crisis of 1765 thirteen panel exhibit will be on display in the Adult Collections Room for the public to enjoy during library hours.

"In debt after the French and Indian War, King George III of England proposed measures to raise revenue that were deeply unpopular in the colonies. One such measure, the Stamp Act, was destined to create a firestorm of protest and create a complex debate about the principles of government, of individual rights, and the identity of the colonists as "Americans.""

This exhibit is free to the public and is on loan from the Commonwealth Museum.
